Frock Me! is back at the original beautiful venue of The Chelsea Town Hall.  Its a less accessible venue than The Kensington Town Hall where we’ve been all this year but its grandeur and beauty make up for it.  I’m bringing a beautiful collection of handbags as well as the Autumn collection of my dresses!  Print out the ticket for free entry.

Alma Eyo looking stunning in her Annabelle dress at the BAFTAS this year! Her partner Ray Davies wrote the music to the series Broken for which Sean Penn won Best Actor Award! A great night had by all!!

I’ve taken a pop-up shop in the shop in Highgate village which was used over 60 years ago as the butchers!  Hence the hooks!  Its been open for over a week now and has been a great success – I’ve extended my stay till the end of May.

Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or by appointment.  Call me on 07771 814681.

Saturday morning Jo Good on BBC radio London has a billboard machine page and I wanted to let London know about the Crouch End Pop – Up I was doing.  I’d already met Jo and had sent her images of my dresses, so when I called in, she already had looked at the dresses.  She was very flattering!  You can listen to the full audio on my home page.

Looking forward to the first Frock Me! of 2018 this Sunday 11 February.  There is a change of venue for the first three fairs of this year as the Chelsea Town Hall where it usually takes place is going through renovations.  The Kensington Town Hall is a fantastic venue and will be very simple for the visitor.  It takes place in two rooms that lead into each other.  My stall is F20 immediately facing you as you walk in.  Please print out the attached complimentary ticket or email me on elaine@elainebernstein.com to be put on the guest list.   See you Sunday!

The pop-up shop was a great success.  Highgate ladies popped in to shop and it was great meeting local residents. Artist Deanne loved her black Sadie dress and Jana, who is expecting a baby, tried on the Polly dress in navy which she has ordered in bottle green.  See her review of the dress in the shop page!

Posing in her Annabelle dress in ivory that she wore for the dancing part of her wedding and her beautiful words re her honeymoon outfit – watch this space!!

“Thank you so much for all of your efforts to help me select the perfect dress for my honeymoon later this month.

You went out of your way to give me every possible size, style, fabric and colour to choose from, and although I wish I could have had all of them I’m delighted with my Dorothy dress in a beautiful silk.

Such amazing customer service and such beautiful designs, I’m looking forward to having an excuse to make my next purchase!”

Starting to prepare for Clerkenwell Vintage Fair this Sunday.  It’s at the amazing new venue called The Yard off Worship Street.  It’s a huge industrial style building on the ground floor with concrete flooring located at the end of a cute little courtyard.   It’s like the modern take on vintage fairs!  The building is airy and roomy with space to move about in.  Come this Sunday between 11 am and 5 pm.  Please email me at elaine@elainebernstein.com and I can put you on the guest list for a complimentary ticket.

Being photographed by Metro Publications at Clerkenwell Vintage Fair proudly showing off my dresses and holding the Belinda dress in scarlet.  We were at a new venue – the fabulous The Yard in Worship Street bang in the middle of Shoreditch.  A massive warehouse style ground floor venue with white brick walls, exposed iron beams and concrete floors made it a wonderful location for the fair.

Model Haley looking very “that’s when i fell for the leader of the pack” during the Portobello London Fashion Week shoot. TBH the Dorothy dress has such a wonderful skirt that you could ride a Vespa or even a bicycle with no risk!

Hobie delighted in showing off her new purchase of her Dorothy dress in navy in a size 6!  This was at the new exciting venue at Clerkenwell Vintage Fair.

Founder of charity Winter Coat Campaign and award winner of the 2017 Mayor’s Award for Services to the Community Frances Manthos stands proudly next to her son on his graduation day!  A proud mum who clearly sets a wonderful example to her son. Frances wears the Dorothy dress in burgundy for the occasion!  Congratulations all round!!

Sophie giving a cheeky twirl in the Dorothy scarlet in our pop up shop in Highgate.  The natural floorboards and giant mirrors compensated for the grungy ceiling – an elegant dressing up emporium converted from a William Hill betting shop!

March 2017

The Annabelle dress in ivory was sold on Sunday 26 March to a delightful and delighted bride to be!

“I just wanted to drop you a line to say how nice it was to meet you yesterday, and how pleased I am to have bought your beautiful wedding dress for the evening of my wedding!”

A photo of the stunning bride (head included) in all her regalia will be posted post wedding later on this year.

Clerkenwell Vintage Fair 19 February 2017

Preparing some wonderful clothes to take to Clerkenwell Vintage Fair’s new venue which I’m really excited about!  It is being held at The Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch.

The Courthouse Hotel combines rich history, classic design and modern, 5-star, luxury for a truly unique destination. Converted from London’s old courthouses, their premises once detained and tried some of London’s most wanted including Reggie and Ronnie Kray (whose former cells you can now enjoy a cocktail in at the Shoreditch venue!), Oscar Wilde, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Christine Keeler and Keith Richards. After the Old Street Courthouse closed in 1996 it became a popular film location, providing the backdrop for shows like Luther and Spooks.

The beautiful building is Grade II listed and inside the Baroque features have been beautifully preserved to set the scene for a day of vintage shopping. Not to mention you’re right on the doorstop of one of London’s most vibrant, stylish and creative neighbourhoods.

Do email me for a name to be put on the guest list for free entry – 11 am – 5 pm.

November 2015

Thank you so much for my dress (Dorothy navy). It has been great to find a designer that can make clothes inspired by the 1940’s era, who knows how material hangs on the body. I will have such joy wearing this dress over the festive season!
With very kind regards,
Sian
